In this rotation, We used illustrator and then saved files to computer and cut it out from the laser.
I designed two notebook covers, front and back. The size used is 5.5" by 4.25". There needed to be at least one engrave and one cut process, not counting the outlines of the covers themselves. I chose a football design with the warrior spear a common theme in all my projects. The football I used lines with the size of .0001 in red in order to have it be cut vs black just engraves.

To be able engrave the water bottle, I first needed to find its dimensions. In order to know the space I have to work with. It was 5.5" tall with a diameter of 2.87", the rectangular area to engrave is 5.5" x 2.87π" ≈ 5.5" tall by 9" wide. The design I chose was again Waunakee and football theme. I used the saw font and spear as the notebook cover which made it easy so I could just copy over the spear.

Another project was to produce cardboard parts that could be put together into a 3-D object. All the parts must fit on an 18" by 32" piece of cardboard, but since I used the smaller laser mine was multiple sheet at 13" by 9.5".I decided to create a rhino, I saw on Thingiverse. I used the files from Thingiverse, but since it didn't fit my dimensions I resized it and put different parts in different documents.

The process of Laser cutting/engraving
First I started in Sketchbook forming a design, I only did this for water bottle because the notebook was easy because I already had the idea in my head
I then created each in illustrator according to the specs previously noted
I then opened each on the computer by the laser and set up to print. For the notebook I followed the mat board materiel, for the card board I looked on printing sheet for materiel and selected that.
The opened UPC software and lined it up making sure it fits. Print.
Here is me using the laser
Here they all are
In these projects I learned a lot on how to use the laser. The cutout was the most difficult project because I could not get the piece to fit very well. all in all it was very fun and I was glad to do it.
